Hi. I’m Nihal. (she/her – b. 1996)
I am interested in anything related to young people, rebuilding communities, and social-emotional skills like empathy and curiosity. I do have to deal with social and emotional anxiety myself from time to time, but I’m working on it.
I’m a social science researcher and Google certified project manager. I primarily research how social media affects emotional skills in rural Indian adolescents. Previously, I’ve worked as a research consultant for the National Human Rights Commission of India.
I’m a woman of faith, mostly Sikh. I try to live a slow life. I’m a good jugaadu (you wanna google search that) with things (not people) and enjoy chatting about mental health, music, languages, and all the little coincidences life throws our way. I also enjoy playing NYT games daily and currently exploring being more outdoorsy (hikes, bikes, kayaks).
I’m from Delhi originally, but I’ve lived in Ghaziabad, Chandigarh, Kerala in India before moving with my +1 to Ottawa, Canada.
